Cool Singer model 638 Touch n Sew Special Zig Zag

My husband and i ran across this machine at the Oakboro Antique Festival in the cabinet for $8.00. I have been trying to find a manual for it-i can not find it on ISMACS or on the internet? Does anyone have one or know how i can get some info on it- It is all metal-but uses the black plastics cams for design-only has one cam in it..Any help would be appreciated..

Carol,

Here you go, free download: http://www.singerco.com/accessories/instruction-manuals
Type in 638 and it goes to the page you need.

Carol, Does the machine work? Did it come with any of the accessories? I have the 626 (pink front) that I bought when I graduated from high school but it does not take the cams. You can get extra cams on ebay as I got a complete set for the 403 I have that was my Mom's. What color is the face plate on this model? Good price on it!

It is a aqua color--it came with only 1 disc-- it sews--we are cleaning and oiling it up now-then look for some more accessories..

I know you may not have the need any longer, but I have a hard copy of the 1968 Instruction Manual for the Singer 638 Touch and Sew. I would be happy to send it to you ... I just hate to throw it away ... would love to get it to someone who needs it. I also have bobbins and other accessories if you are interested.
