This cabinet looks to be in very good shape but the machine, not so much. Seems steep at $350. http://detroit.craigslist.org/okl/atq/3566859241.html

Maybe it was a "top notch" machine in its day but good luck selling it at that price. http://detroit.craigslist.org/okl/fuo/3644801091.html

It wasn't even "top notch" in it's day. It's not a 401, as advertised, it's a 404. Straight Stitch only. That's what it says on the manual they took a clear picture of too! It might even be safe to say it would have been a "base" model back in the day.

The price is completely out of whack too. I can't even sell a 401A here for a third that price, and it's a lot cleaner and doesn't need parts or a servicing.

I love the table, but there is no way I would pay that much!

So,.. it's sacked out too? That's what I've generally seen with the "seamstress owned" machines that have hit my desk so far.

I have a Singer Quantum XL-100 sewing machine for sale. It comes with a foot control, an ugly carrying case, a BUNCH of spools of thread, needles, books on patterns, and other stuff. I don't know anything about sewing machines, so please don't ask detailed questions about it. Yes it works. If interested, reply here or call/text me at 765-620-8887. My name is Josh. Thanks and have a good day.

    ad with attitude?

Hey! I have a question. I've been seeing a lot of domestic "embroidery" and "Quilting" sewing machines lately, and the prices -seem- out there to me, but what's reasonable for something like that? (I'm thinking that $1k to $5k is a little much for used),... I would love an embroidery machine that didn't "suck", but I don't know how to pick one out.

I figure they all suck - stick with your 411G, Tammi. Then go pay to have any embroidery you want done... LOL I haven't found any embroidery I want done or I would pay someone to do it. Much cheaper than buying a machine that would make me crazy. But my guess is you just want one to take apart and play with.
