Are the handles and latches strong enough to avoid disaster? just a thought.

I'd like to find some of these - just be sure to keep moisture packs in there.

I wouldn't put them in the cargo hold of an airline, but for storing and reasonsble carrying I thjnk so.There is even a place for padlock or a nut and bolt. The silica gel pac is a great idea here in Oregon.

I love this idea, especially since I have a FW without a case. I did make a quilted carrying case for it, but it's just not sturdy enough on the sides for me. I'm thinking I could just slip the quilted case down inside one of these file boxes and have extra cushioning. I have not had to carry my FW anywhere yet and it is mainly brought out from storage to sew on from time to time. Thanks for the tip

I found a great insulated soft side cooler at Walmart a couple of summers ago for mine. It is well padded on all sides, has pockets on the outside and an extension pocket on the top for supplies, a nice shoulder strap for carrying, etc. It works great. I think it cost me about $12. Fantastic for traveling/classes, etc.

Love your idea! Right now I have my little FW in my husband's leather bowling bag (he doesn't bowl anymore).
