Default $5.74 Dressmaker

Anyone want a pretty turquoise front grill from a '57 Chevy? I don't where to get one of those, but ebay has a Dressmaker with that look for less than $6 today. Looks a lot like Joe's.

I never like the looks of these dressmaker,, in the past... I have a freind that thinks there the best machine ever made

afew months ago we were in a junk store I turned my nose up at buying one ( $45 LOL ) feeling a little quilty, the same day joe bought his I happen to have also bought this one. it must be a bit older than the ebay machine.

I see most are coming up with a model #.. This machine has no numbers any where on it and yes I have been inside and out on this thing...

after having this monster .... oh boy what a nice machine, you just can'tscrew it up, I've tried I did the 2 layers chap leather , 8 of canvas, teh only thing I haven't tried is horse butt leather..

does anyone have one with no numbers ? or am I missing where they are...

The eBay Dressmaker is very very similar to my Alden. No cams, but a lot of stitches built in. They are complicated inside, but as long as you don't force the controls or try to back up half way through a pattern change you're good to go.

I love those turquoise machines!! Only an hour to go and it's still under $6.00. I would bid on it but I'm tired of buying machines on eBay just to have them show up with some damage from shipping.

Don't say that today. I just bought a machine on ebay 30 minutes ago - no, not the Dressmaker. I can't handle boat anchors easily. My only other ebay purchase arrived in perfect condition. On the other hand, I recently purchased a foot (for the machine, not me) from a QB member who only put it in an envelope and it arrived smashed. Now I'm going to worry for the next few days.

I do have a pretty turquoise one, though not as elaborate as the Dressmaker. My Universal is in a cabinet so it's easier for me to deal with though I'm not sure my GD was impressed when the plug shorted out as she went to plug it in. With + or - 70 year old wiring, it's a wonder it doesn't happen more often.

I have a dressmaker that I cant find any info on either. I actually only bought it because I wanted the cabinet it was in. There's a photo of her on page 56 of the photo thread. Looks like a workhorse of a machine though! Mine isn't a pretty color. Its just white.
