Default 1924 Singer

I have a friend that has a 1924 Singer Treadle machine and he is selling it but no idea what to ask for it. Do any of you enthusiasts have a ballpark idea of the value. I understand he should not get his hopes up to high.

Thanks for any help.

From what I've seen in general if it's in good condition he might get up to $100 for it. It will probably take a while to sell. Even in larger markets like Seattle and Portland I see reasonably priced machines sit a while before they're either sold or the ad is pulled.

I'm on the wrong coast, but in the northeast $100 appears to be the languishing point. There's a very nice 66 I've been watching for over a month sitting at $100.

I've bought two decent treadles this past year. A 1915 15-30 that I paid $50 for. It had been sitting on CL for two months. The lady told me I had doubled the next highest offer. And a 1939 201-2 (still potted) that was mounted in a straight leg treadle that I paid $75 for based on the 201 and not the table.

If he's "Hmmm, I think I might sell this..." then do $100. If he's "I want this thing gone!" my guess would be go lower.

I bought the 1906 Singer 27 for $50 and the White sat for free on Craigslist for about 10 days before I decided to take it. Around here if you want it gone $50 is probably the price. I think the White sat for so long for free because it was a terrible ad.

Ooh...I really like the lines on that White's cabinet. I don't think I've seen one like it before.

Around here I see treadles listed for more around $150-200. I'm not sure if they actually sell well at that price, but that seems to be about what I see. (More if it's in one of the many antique malls, but those kinda don't count.)

I believe that is referred to as the "Mission" cabinet.

Here's a pic of the closed cabinet.
