Default 4th of july and the ol boy runs again

    I posted a pic of this 1922 singer 16 - 188 walking foot ...

powered by a 2011 arrow clutch motor ...

Only test ran today ,,, Oooooooooo boy. I have very good contorl over the speed.

It has to have a paint job,,, I was thinking it looks like a... pada < Bear.

In time I will post photo like in a blog , This was a total rebuild on that top, it had things like 3 hinge pockets for hinges and where the wrong shape.

hole for the machine 1 1/2" to wide,, small stuff ..

so it was a happy 4 th of July ..

I have this in the house tonight , I don't like the looks of it .... since theres is no oil catch pans, I have parts, maybe make a slide out drawer between the irons, combine catch pans and a drawer
If nothing else, this is a machine I can have fun with, and not screw it up ..

I'm thinking out loud and looking for Idea's. It's only 4" longer than a standard treadle

I could go for hot pink with turquiose polka dots! It looks like a powerhouse machine. What is the measurement of the harp space?

    John,

Have you seen the pics of the multi colored parkerized military style equipment? I've wanted to do a machine like that.
The main part OD green, then black, lighter green or tan. With the wood a neutral color with a mat or satin finish on it.
Girly colors would be OK if it was a Feather Weight or a new plastic thing, but not that old brute.

I have several crinkle paint machines. A brown Kenmore, a gold Kenmore, a black Singer 66-18, and an OD green White Dressmaster. I kind of like them. I think I need to do a group photo of them.

    Glad you got him running.

I'D love to do a machine in the Hottest pink you could ever dream of, not the super deep pink.. has to knock your eyes out pink...

I think I found pic's of decals for this,, So it's close to time, to try making decals , I have made stickers

On this 16's cabinet,, I've had this in mind, or somthing like this...

make this piece a Drawer face , from there go with oak as a rim under the rest of the face.

I think I can give this a 20's look and be much more in home friedly..

In first photo...With a 'level' like that, you must do some serious wood working. LOL Oh, and glad you got it working. Will love to see the photos when you get him done.

I think his name is July (like July Sackett) and he deserves stars and stripes. I simply love the way the treadle's pitman has turned into a foot control. A powerhouse just waiting to happen!

The skirt looks good but with the low point in the middle, will it get in the way of your legs?
