66 Project
OK I have jumped in with both feet. I found this Red Eye in Portland while up there on a visit. I want to restore her back to a treadle machine - it had a really amateur looking motor conversion. The treadle and wheel are missing, and the thread spool spindle but I think that's all. Cabinet is in fairly good shape. I paid $90 - good deal???, I don't know but I love it and can't wait to get started cleaning it up. At one time I saw a site that showed really great pictures and information about taking an old machine apart and cleaning it up - I thought it was on this board, but can't seem to find it. If anyone has links to sites that might sell parts, or help guide me thought this project, I appreciate any help. This is the first time I have tried something like this.

You are going to love that machine. It's a twin to mine. Here is a link to see her: http://www.quiltingboard.com/vintage...a-t173662.html
I clean mine with sewing machine oil on flannel and use Rustic Touch furniture polish by Melaleuca on the cabinet. It took the grime off and shined it all up. Enjoy!!!!

Norva,
You're undertaking the exact same project I did back in 2011.
Here's the story I posted: { http://sewingforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=4555 } It was a bit of work, but turned out good.
I still haven't finished the cabinet. Too many projects.

I'm going on vacation soon- when I get back if you still need treadle parts - I may have what you want.
I gave Joe the belt shifter, but I think the rest is still there. I've been so busy getting ready for vacation I've not had time to dig through and find the other sewing stuff I've offered to people - just not enough hours in the day!
