It's a beauty. The 99s were made for such a long time because they're tough, no-nonsense, reliable machines. Plus, as a 3/4-size machine, on the cute side. (Not as cute as the dinky Featherweight, but still...) They were made out of aluminum briefly in the 1920s; otherwise, despite their size, they're a bit heavy to use regularly as a portable.

TO clarify, any dates given are when the group of serial numbers were commissioned, not the date the machine was manufactured. Your machine was one of 75,000 allotted.
