I went to the flea market yesterday finally with hubby and a neighbor, after about 15 min looking I came across an singer in a table...look closer and knew it was an 221 with blue badge (1951) ask the price, he said 100 and then after looking at my shocked face...said 75?? Of course I took it!! Table has a big faded area but if great study shape. Cleaned it up some and ran it, it's quiet and purring along! t was hopping all over rest of trip being excited! It's so hard to find any machines at a decent price.

Ah, the old 'shocked and stunned' trick. Works every time! Congrats on your 221.

nwm, I used TR-3 Resin Glaze on my machines. I use it on machines whose finishes are in good shape but need an overall cleaning and polishing.

Thank you KenmoreRulesAll for the info
Actually I was shocked really at the low price and evidently he wanted to sell it and thought it was too high. I didn't
Have enough money but upon hearing me say what a good buy, my neighbor paid for it after I put down $20 deposit.
And good timing!! As I returned with rest of $. Several people tried to buy it!! Whew, guess it was my day!

Congratulations! The 221 is spectacular, you can't go wrong with the 201, and the tools look great!

Yesterday at dinner my brother told me his friend who works Flea Markets has a Featherweight for sale but this was too far north for me to get.
Where was the flea market you went to in Fl ? I know Webster I-75 Exit 309 is only on Mondays.
I live close to Exit 123 and just got south for the winter. Only want a Singer 201 anyway but no time for scouting.
