Default Which areas can I post "I want to purchase a..." thread?

I just posted on the Thrift Shop/Yard Sale forum. A kind soul suggested I post the "I want to purchase"part here, since it is vintage part.

I though I could only post "Wanted to Purchase" items under the Thrift Shop forum. Could someone point me to the protocol so I don't cause a problem? Thanks!

+1 on the question please. I was going to post in Thrift Shop/Yard Sale and put a "please look at the selling forum" in my signature when I was ready.

it's best to not post "in search of ..." anywhere except the proper section in the thrift shop.
otherwise internet drifters and shady characters mistake us for a marketplace.

buying/selling/trading is restricted exclusively to the thrift shop.
there are eligibility requirements if you want to sell or offer something to trade.
