I'm not surprised you're looking into doing something different. While it's functional, that bar stock sticks out like a sore thumb on the complete machine.

Her name is "Brittany" She is Heather's Son's dog who lives with us for now. She is just happy to be warm and cozy (she was a rescue)

it really is an amazing machine- and I love the colors on the flywheel.

It is a large, heavy beast though, when all together.

You betcha. I suspect she sews now, just I'm not knowledgeable enough to thread her up correctly.

There are a few points that need cleaning before she will let thread slide smoothly, but there is no reason why she should not sew. (welcome to the joy of purely mechanical machines)
