Axis Chain Stitch - Help!

Hi everyone! I'm new here and hope this is the best place to post this... I recently got an Axis Chain Stitch machine and am having trouble getting it to pick up a stitch. Is anyone familiar with using this machine? Any help would be much appreciated!

I looked this up and your Axis looks similar to the much older Singer 114w103 and some Cornely Embroidery models. I'd try some FB groups that specialize in CS embroidery. This is one- https://www.facebook.com/groups/WQW.AMC/
