I have 2 FWs and wouldn't think of selling one of them. I think you should keep it and use it!

I've decided to keep it for awhile because I've never had one and am enjoying it. It looks nice with my Willcox and Gibbs because they are small and great conversation pieces. I definitely decided to swap the motor for an original one to it can, eventually, be sold as an all original piece.

I'm kind surprised that everyone doesn't think the case is that important. So, I'm passing on that since they are expensive and usually in poor shape. I would NOT consider a reproduction because I don't see the point of that.. I'll post once fully restored.

    Thanks all

If I got my hands on it I would keep it until I can't sew anymore. Lucky you. Enjoy it. Someone on CL here has a free arm DW and want $875 for it. I almost choaked.

What a great find! She shined up beautifully. I got mine at a garage sale for $50.00 and thought I had a great buy.
I did bring mine in to make sure nothing was wrong as it was making a noise, but all it needed was a new belt and a rubber foot on the bottom of the machine. I love her and take it with me on vacations.

Why don't you think the motor is the original?

Wow! Is it a Centennial? Prices are higher on those. What a great find!

The motor is an Alphasew....I don't like them so I picked up an original vintage motor for the machine. As far as it being a Centennial....How do you determine that???
