As an extra note: If you haven't got any Singer lubricant, other brands of buttonholers say to use petroleum jelly where the Singer book says to use "Singer Lubricant". So either would be fine.

Yep, and if you really wanna go hi-zoot, you can use the good old Tri-Flow grease. That's pretty good stuff actually.
