Default Cosson 58c Foot pedal repair

Hello all! Thanks for all of the resources.

I would like to repair my Cosson machine's foot pedal. The offending component is an obligate disk wound with a thin metal wire. This doesn't seem very conductive at checking continuity.

Is anyone familiar with this type of mechanism, and or what a suitable material would be to rewire this ceramic??? disk?

Thanks in advance for any information.

I'm not familiar with the actual workings of the different kinds of foot controllers (pedals). I do know that there are many tutorials on how to adjust some of the Singer foot controllers. I also know that some have switched out the older controllers with the newer electronic ones with success. I had not heard of Cosson machines, so I did a search and found https://www.sewingparts.co.uk/machin...osson-58c.html which has a Cosson 58C Replacement Motor, 2 Belts & Foot Control Set. It looks like an electronic foot controller to me.

Perhaps if you send a picture of your controller (pedal) and tell a little more as to how it is behaving, perhaps someone will have better advice.

We like pictures. In order to post pictures on Quilting Board, you will probably need to reduce or compress the picture to a file size that is smaller than 2MB. How to post images can be found at https://www.quiltingboard.com/attach...020-01-17-.pdf
Don't forget to scroll over to the far right to find and click on the "Upload" button.

I have found that only the big red "Reply" button or "Quote" work to give me the paper clip icon to work for adding pictures.

Some additional info regarding reducing images at post #4 and images for the scroll and upload button can be found at #5 of quilt block ID?

Another way to post pictures can be found at 2021/2022, 2.5” Birthday Swap
And how to use an ipad to post pictures can be found at Uploading photos

Or simply - Make sure pictures are smaller than 2MB
Click on red "Reply" button
Click on the paper clip icon
Click browse - choose picture/s. (only 5 allowed per post)
Once they show up as being loaded, Scroll over to the right side and click on "Upload"
After the pictures show up as being attached, you can close that window and go back to the screen to finish posting your post.

I'm overwhelmed by the information in this response.

Thanks.

I will photograph and attempt to describe the mechanism in the coming days, as time allows.

There are replacement motors available. I would love to restore this pedal.

Thanks again.
