Look on e-bay and you can compare prices they have sold for - if it is MINT condition and the box and attachments are also in Mint - it may be a fair, but not great price.
I think 200-275 is a good range.

Is it local or do you have to pay shipping? I have also pruchased and sold from the 30's for less too. I have sold for $300.00 with buyer paying for shipping. But just my experence, all of mine are black. I have seen the cream/white and green ones for that price. calla/Sue And sometimes ya just gotta do it.............

I only had $225 to pay for a Featherweight and stalked EBAY for months before I found one intact for $199 plus shipping. It was in beautiful condition with the original case (which wasn't in great condition) but sews like a charm. At one point, because the bidding really brought the prices up high, I was considering pulling back....saving some more money and then looking....but found mine the next day. So I figure you either have to have patience and wait, or a thicker wallet and no patience.

There is about 8 pages of 221 Featherweights on E-Bay. Some are less expensive and some are more. Some are in great condition and some are not. I think that $360 is kind of expensive. But if it is what you want and you have the money, Go for it!!

I gotta agree with Sue, make sure that it works too. Also a reproduction case drops the price as well. Wait for "the machine for you" you'll find it, maybe not today or tomorrow but it's out there. There was one here in Portland a week ago for $150.00. Everything was there from what I could see, it was a great deal but I already own one. I transfered the link to the board here and noone ever commented. Hope one of us got it.
Also not all FW's came with a scrolled faceplate. It does not affect how the machine works. You can have two FW's side by side made the same day with consecutive serial numbers and they can each have a different faceplate. The Singer site says that the plates were dumped into bins and when it started running low they would dump the next run in it. You can also by aftermarket/salvaged faceplates for small $. Just need to look.
Good Luck, hope you find one!!

Looks used but you can always clean them up.

This craigslist has a scroll face if it's an 1935, then this isn't really a bad price!

When I was looking on one of the FW sites I believe it was a Singer site. It stated that the scroll faceplate and the plane faceplate (the exact name escapes me at this moment) could very well been manufactured the same day and next to each other. Seems that Singer used bulk bins to stock the faceplates and other parts and when the supply was low in the bin they would add more plates. Leaving the previous ones at the bottom. When the bin was again low then the face plates could possibly be mixed again. Rotation wasn't important as they were making 50,000 or so a year.
One just looked a little prettier than the other, no big deal if I wanted a scroll one I could just go online and buy a different one. Noone would be able to tell if it had come with it or not. Mine was given to my Mom by my Dad new and then from her to me.
My FW is priceless no matter which faceplate it has.
If I were looking for a FW I don't think that a faceplate would deter me from buying at any great price one way or another.

Not saying that the scroll faceplate is not representitive of a specific year, just saying that some of them could possibly be any year.
