Default Featherweight stitch length way off.

I just recieved a beautiful new 222k in the mail this morning. The machine looks and sounds fabulous, but there is one problem with it I can't find any information on how to fix. The stitch length regulator, when set to 6 stitches per inch, is actually sewing out 12 stitches per inch (I measured). Anything higher up the scale is so small it practically stitches in place. How do I correct this?

Okay Carmon Henry sent me a copy of the 221 service manual, and said it was likely a feed dog adjustment, so we'll play with that and see if we can get it set right.

We got it to 8 stitches per inch. I think I'll call it good

Good luck. I can only suggest clean it thoroughly and see if that helps but I have not personally had that problem.

I would love to see pictures if you get the chance. A 222 is a beautiful machine.

I'll post photos tomorrow. I want to talk about the seller anyway. Best ever!

I thought I read or heard somewhere recently that DeskDave is closing down his business. Am I right? Wrong?

I don't know. I just talked to Dave the other day and he didn't mention it, but Graham Forsdyke has retired and closed his featherweight business.

I know and I am soooo bummed! And somewhere I did read that DeskDave is also closing up shop. I don't remember where though, sorry.
