Finally bringing her home!
I have been back & forth whether or not to purchase a red eye singer treadle. Of course I wanted it, but not sure how to get it home as it is in a cabinet and heavy. My DH who usually does these things for me, had back surgery, so I don't want to involve him. I have thought and thought about it since August. My friends loaded her up yesterday for me and may bring it to me later today, if not before Thanksgiving!!!!!!!!!! I am sooo excited! Now my DH is not so excited it seemed, but he didn't say anything! I am sure he is thinking I don't need another machine especially since he is my machine repair guy! I really have to stop after this one. Nothing sews as well as these old machines. Can't wait to post a pic!
My Janome is making a terrible noise and will have to go into the shop this week, but I still have my old Singers to sew with!

At some point ask yourself how much does a Singer 403 or a Singer 503 cost compared to a repair bill? How much more does the Janome do than one of those grand old ladies? And how much of what the Janome will do are you actually using?

deedum-I was in the same situation with dh. I took the machine out and got the dollie to wheel the cabinet down around the back of the house and rolled it right in to my sewing room. Carried the machine down the stairs and put in the cabinet and what a beautiful sight it is! I can't wait to see your picture!

Congratulations on your 'new' treadle sewing machine. Have you seen the video, by Treadle Lady, of her model 66 in a Parlor Cabinet? It sounds like that is the type of cabinet you are getting with yours. It's a cute and informative video. I also recommend her little booklet.

Wow, that is the exact cabinet I have. Exactly, will post some pics later! Thanks for the video. I didn't know it had 9 doors!
