Default Florence Rotary

I picked up a Florence Rotary sewing machine today for $5.55, the serial number is FR 70L7069 and am unable to find any information to date it. I have found that the White Company bought the Florence company around the turn of the century. The machine does not have a base and I am quessing that it may have been a treadle machine at one time. I have oiled it and it has loosened up, a beautiful ornate machine. Any info would be appreciated.

Default ISMACS info

Would love to see pics!

Here is the link to the Florence information on ISMACS: http://www.ismacs.net/florence/home.html which you might find interesting, if not particularly practical.

The serial number is 7017069, after some cleaning and a closer look that "L" became a 1. I have found that White made "badged" machines with the Florence name for a couple of years but this serial number did not correlate with those, so I am still searching.

Here is a picture of the machine, it is a little rough but still a beautiful piece of history to me. My husband is going to build me a base for it. I wish it had the missing top plate and parts beneath.
