OP has a Vertical Feed machine, you linked to a horizontal feed machine, so other then they are both Davis, they are very, very different. It's basically a walking foot machine with no feed dogs.

Mine also had a funny spool looking thing I couldn't figure out until I tipped the machine back - it was to keep the machine tilted back at the right angle with out you having to hold it. Nice machine!

Some good stuff in this thread, especially about getting the manual from the Davis VF Yahoo group. Need the serial number on the front slide to come up with the approximate age.
