the machine has the dreaded aluminum rot. not fixable--not worth $10.

If I was in the market for a FW I would probably buy her. A little TLC and elbow grease would make her look great.
not even a huge amount of TLC will fix aluminum rot.

If the seller would come down on the price, I think she needs some love! I'm just new to the FW family, so I wouldn't really take stock in my opinion but thought I'd put my two cents in.

Sometimes someone will use a power cord they have to another machine that fits that one as well. In rare occation we have seen people piece meal parts selling them seperately so as to get more particularily when the machine is is poor shape. We deal in vintage machines and all our machines are complete and in top running condition because our standard is high, we don't let someone find out after purchase they have a lemon or parts they need to buy- we do all the work and personally ship the item.

She really needs some tlc. Looks as though her owner had a bad sewing day and beat her up.

I just passed on a nice one on CL list here for 300, thought long and hard, but so very happy with my 11 year old Bernina, and rarely go to classes that I decided not time for it now. Youngest daughter will be a senior in college and gas and taxes too high. Just have to be patient.

I would pass also. I'm looking for one, but would rather pay a little more for one in good shape.
