Nothing better than good pictures. Took me a second before I figured out it wasn't in a really huge cabinet or a recess in the floor.

BAH HA HA - he inherited an old Dressmaker and is getting rid of the plastic wonder that sets in a hole in the floor.

That Brother is beyond filthy. Even the dirt has dirt on it.

I've been doing some research on just treadle stands. most anything I find on the net , doesn't match up with what has turned, Like I've read it was around 1946. I'm thinking the open leg style not a palor
I think it will depend on the factory. I don't know about the US, but treadles were still made in Canada in the 50's, and I believe the early 60's.

"Price just lowered! Perfectly working machine with case and all attachments. No pictures possible but will be happy to answer questions. Phone is best way to contact. Better price than local store. Considered best machine Singer ever made and preferred by quilters.

Oh my.

The "Rustic look", emphasis on Rust, doesn't come cheap these days. It's not something that can be attained overnight. It takes years of serious neglect to get it looking right. That's why shabby chic stuff has no soul.

Was Singer still making treadles when that machine was made? Could be someone seriously wanted a black 201P. I think that's the first 201P I have seen, or any model ending in P as far as that goes. The bid history shows a minimum price of $99 and only the single bid with the bidder's identity blocked. I guess sometimes it pays to dream.

The P suffix is an Aussie thing... from the models that were assembled/made here.
