I hope this gets sold, so I'm not tormented by the ad for long. http://www.kijiji.ca/v-art-collectib...ationFlag=true

It looks like it's just sat in its case for the last 50 years.

It's in excellent shape! Perhaps if you tell them it's 1950s or 60s instead of the 1920s, they'll think it's worth less... either way, a 222K for that price is hard to beat....

Wow. If one of my kids were here I'd sell them to buy this, lol. Wonder if they'd take a 3yr old snot factory in trade.

Kids are like anything else. They're easier to sell if you wipe the snot off them first.
I didn't notice that machine was a 222. Well worth buying no matter what the seller thinks it is at that price.

Here's one that while the work could be far worse is just sad.

I'm seeing a couple very nice deals in my local market this morning.
Here's a very nice White.

And a New Companion. I'm not sure of actual maker, the tin is a nice bit of icing on the cake.

The reality is finances and no room for another treadle machine for me. Both are great but I really love the White. I think it's the oldest one I've seen in my market.
Rodney

We all have seen treadles converted to other things. Sometimes things don't work out when you go the other direction either.

Rodney - I don't think I could resist the White - provided it came with the boat shuttle
New Companion is made by New Home

and that last table - that is how it came. Originally it has provisions for a tilt down machine and there is a cover that fits into the opening. to the left is a cubby hole compartment. I've got the same table that came with a Singer 534. I use it with my Viking as my main sewing cabinet.

will someone buy this for me? I'll pay that price plus a "finders fee" plus shipping. sniff sniff - there is rarely anything "good" around my area. I've not bought a machine for several weeks and I'm starting to go through withdrawal.

That last one fooled me. It looked like someone cut down an old library table or something along those lines to me. Far heavier lines than most sewing tables.

I really hate the necessity of resisting the White. It would easily be the oldest and prettiest machine in my collection if I got it. I have one or two nice machines but most are pretty average stuff. I wonder what I could sell....
Is that New Companion full size or 3/4 size?

Rodney. I love that New Companion. But alas, I have no room for another sewing machine. Hmmmm, will ask DD if she has room. Will check this one out and see if it is sold yet. NOOOOOO. That is why I have been staying off CL and ShopGoodwill. Wish me luck!
