ok- how many things can you point out that indicate this is not an Early Antique item?

Apparently "Early American" includes the 1950s or 60s at least.

It's kind of neat but I agree. It does look like a high school shop project. The glued up layers practically scream it. It's certainly not a professional piece but overall it's pretty nice. I hope they got a good grade.

I always wonder the story about hand made items like that that end up being sold or in a thrift store. Kind of like the vintage quilts I see on Shopgoodwill. At what point did the owners stop caring about them?

I think you'd find they didn't stop caring. The people who inherited or were gifted did.

None of the older 15s had the feed dog drop knob. You have to drop the feed dogs from underneath the machine.
That knob is a giveaway that it's an Asian made machine.

Naw, I just about got got with that exact decal set once before. i.e practically had my wallet open and everything. It was a complete déjà vu moment.
