This guy has been trying to sell this machine on Craigslist for over a year - no takers at $300.

Well, after several polite conversations with the seller he at least took the word "Antique" out of the header. I tried to give him all the reasons why I know this is a repro machine but he kept arguing that the serial # says it's an antique. I give up.

Someone should go get this. I have one and it's sweet. At least it was before the cat barfed on it.

Something is - maybe the top? I love the early 201 with the chrome handwheel.

The machine is in there backwards. I have seen this a few times and really wonder if the people have ever used a sewing machine.

it must not be on the hinges then - more likely the drawers are in from the wrong side or it was disassembled and put back wrong.

Not to quibble, but it appears to me that the machine is mounted correctly; the cut in the top that you lift for lowering the machine into the cabinet is in front, the top opens in the proper direction and the hinge is visible behind the machine. That's why I suggested that the top might be turned around.

OR - it could be that extremely rare drawerless Singer cabinet that is selling on eBay for thousands! [facetious]
