That is the same machine I learned to sew on when I was about her age. It was my mother's and I still have it. I know it is at least 64 years old now and still going strong. It has never had to go to the repair shop and I do all the cleaning, oiling, and lubrication. Couldn't ask for a better investment. Ann

Cool pic. Glad she's going to learn to sew. But ............. she must be using invisible thread, I don't see any on the machine>

she's sewing straight lines on paper.

    she graduated to thread tonight

dg - it did not come with any of the accessories. i found it on the canadian version of craig's list for $75. i took it to an enthusiast and got it mostly tuned up - brushings changed and the throat plate unstuck and stuff like that.

it needed some running and some little tweaks to get moving, but i think we're almost there.

i researched the accessory kits on ebay. it looks like i can buy a kit for about $100. cams, buttonholer and embroidery attachments are also more or less available. i'll keep my eyes peeled

thanks for your kind words. she's a pretty good one. i'm going to keep her [the kid and the machine!]
