    Goodwill AZ Score

I really scored today. I almost didn't open the case because I thought is was a typewriter. But when I opened the case and saw the machine I quick turned the wheel and it moved freely so I slammed the cover shut and ran to the register before someone yelled "Thief". I got a Singer 301A for 19.99. When I got her home she is pristine and purrs when she's running. She's so light I think I'll be taking her to classes. Her name will be Hattie after my Grandma Michol. She didn't sew but I loved her so. I have many of her handkerchiefs with crochet edging.

Wow! I thought I was getting a great deal when I bought my 301 for $85! In the valley, we don't get good deals like that at Goodwill. Ours is VERY over priced, I think. Hattie is gorgeous! She is a cousin to my Harriette (my maternal grandmother's name!)

Our goodwill in Apache Junction is very reasonable and sometimes cheap. It's our St. Vincent de Paul that I find expensive.

She is a definite beauty, she doesn't look like she has been used. Good going! This one is on my wish list.

I hope you got the bobbin case too as they cost a lot to replace? Looks just like mine...

WooHoo! You DID hit the jackpot! I found my 301 at GW too, but not as cheaply as yours. Don't you just love how smooth and fast they sew? I am now in the hunt for a black long-bed and the tan one like yours. I can understand when people say they have five or six of these beauties!

We are kind of far from Sierra Vista, it is southeast of Tucson and we are east of Mesa near Pheonix which is northwest of Tucson. You should check out Goodwill.com as the auctions for Arizona have to be picked up in Tucson. That being said if I find a good machine that I am not interested in I will take pictures and post on the qboard.
