Default Help finding a bobbin case

I'm no good with vintage Singers. A friend needs a new bobbin case for this machine. Can you help me find one?

It appears that this is a model number 115. Fortunately, mine has a bobbin case. I have read that either a 20U bobbin case, or one for a 306W should work for this machine.

That seemed too easy, so I'm not sure it is the right one, but check it out.....

I'm fairly certain that the sew-classic one should work, but sure that the sewingpartsonline will not. The one at sewingpartsonline has a position finger, which will not work for the 115 pictured.

There is a manual for the 115 that has a rotary bobbin at http://ismacs.net/singer_sewing_mach...ine-manual.pdf

Yes, it's definitely a rotary bobbin case. The pig-tail is throwing me a curve ball, but I guess it could work. I'll try it out tomorrow.

Yes, it has a pigtail, and a pigtail like threading pattern. I'd post a photo of mine, but adding a photo not an option under advanced....

I had one of the "Singer 115 Bobbin Case 55651 52365" at the shop today, but it didn't work at all. It snaps into the hook, but the thread just wraps around the latch. And there is so much play in the side to side movement, there's no way it could stay in place to form a stitch.

We're thinking we'll just have to find another machine just like it and hope it has a bobbin case. We're learning that there aren't very many Singer 115 models around. I'll keep checking the thrift store and ebay.

Thanks for your help, everyone!

Would this bobbin case work? https://www.sewingpartsonline.com/se...Case+%23224841 Bobbin Case #224841 For Singer 78 Class, 115W Sewing Machine. It has that little arm on it that might help hold it in place. But is it for a rotary machine?

I sincerely doubt it.

Did you use a "L" bobbin? Did you have thread coming through pig tail? Does the hook and other lower area look like the manual that I linked to on ISMACS?

WIChix, can you send email image from phone?
