You could probably oil it or something to get the crank working. Like everyone else, I say buy it-50 bucks are you kidding!! That is a steal for a cutie like that!

I have one. I love it. It belonged to my great grandmother. It is displayed in my office/work room now. My siblings are jealous that it was given to me as the oldest granddaughter. It will stay in the family. I say start a new tradition in YOUR family and grab it, enjoy it and pass it on.

PS: I can get mine to work if I fiddle with it a bit. I am a SC now, but as a child I make doll clothes with it.

It is cute.... but if I was giving the opportunity, I would probably pass because..a.) I don't have room for one more sewing machine, b.) I would want to use the $50 for material.

I have on of these sweet babies. It sits on my shelf. I've heard that they were called salemans samples. Buy if you can.

The value as an antique would be much greater than $50. Even if a part is missing, it's a good conversational piece
