Default Question about a White Rotary

I saw on my local Craigslist a white rotary. But after looking for curiosity sake I found her quite intriguing. She does not have a smooth shiny finish instead it looks like that singer crinkle paint. That's not too unusual what's unusual is that the machine is "embossed" or "engraved" with designs rather then decals. I've never seen a machine like this. Any idea what it might be? They are asking 195 for it.

Someone mentioned this a while back. I think the reference they gave was that the embossed Whites were early versions with the crinkle finish. $195 sounds high to me but my eye tends to skip the crinkle finished machines altogether so it might be fine and the area makes a difference as well.

Thanks! I was just curious. She's pretty and it's a nice thought to not ruin any decals because they are embossed into the metal. Normally I don't like the crinkle finish either but the engraving is pretty. I believe it's listed as a 1929 or something like that.

I had one...gave it away. They don't FMQ very well, though they do a decent straight stitch. They've VERY common in my area of outer space.

I think $100 to $125 is a decent price for a cabinet and machine in such nice condition if it sews well with the book and attachments. Nice find.

Default White Rotary

They were very pretty machines with scroll type decorations. The price is a little steep for a White. Please check Ebay for the approx. value. If the machine is perfect and you really want it, then it is your choice. You wouldn't pay for shipping and handling if you got it there. They are good old machines. I learned on one and it is still in the family. The cabinet has value and there are attachments. Manuals are available. See when the machine was last serviced. Ultimately, you can bargain for a better price and the choice is yours.

I'm not ready to bring home another machine so I've just been watching. Though I find it amusing that it was relished on my birthday. I just found her embossing pretty. It's two cities away so I'd really have to think before pouncing on it. But for now I'll wait.
