Congratulations! What a wonderful find. I told my Mother-in-Law I'd like to buy a Featherweight and she said she would SELL me hers for $200! She said she heard they were worth $350-$400 and was convinced she was offering me a good deal. BTW, she never backed off the price.

There is a 1947 201-2 listed on Craigslist in Seymour, Connecticut in a #65 cabinet for $200 in case anyone is interested. I really love my new one.

Congratulations. Question, how do you find out when your machine was born. I have old Singer I love, but have no idea how to find out her birthday.

You can look the serial number up on this site:
http://www.singerco.com/support/serial_numbers.html
It will tell you the date and the model of SM that you have. After you look it up let us know what you have!
