I read on here somewhere yesteready, someone saying that they wondered why they don't make sewing machines like this any more, you know, with all the lasting detail. I don't know why they ever quit doing it like that either. Might have to do with production. But since these were made for people who had a creative side,we would really appreciate the beauty. Quilters are very detailed in the craft that we do.
I have a book that tells stories about the pioneers and how they would travel even in the wagon trains with their treadles loaded onto the wagon. These were a must back then because it was how they kept the family going in clothes and quilts. So their treadles were treasured Items. I laughed thinking about how most men now days would bulk at having to load and make room for that. But back then I guess he figured if he didn't want to be out planting buck naked he might just want to go along with it.roflol
