We went to an annual one day antique sale, in the little town of Coburn today. I didn't get 50' from the shuttle bus when I spotted a treadle. I was sure it would be ridiculously expensive. It was a Singer 127 or 128 with 2 new belts, lots of accessories, a manual, a key, other goodies for $45. It had the shuttle, and had NO rust anywhere.

At another vendor was a Singer 15-88 for $30, (sitting on the drive)we wandered around, let fate have some time to intercede and then went back and bought both! I'm happy, and the 15-88 may wind up in the treadle base.
I just finished getting what I'll either name "Rusty" or the "Ugly Duckling" FW running. She cost a whole $3 at a garage sale, but was completely rusted stuck, EVERYWHERE!
I was sure it would wind up as a doorstop! I'm excited that she now stitches, but I need to polish a little more on the bobbin base. And a week before that, I scored a 301 in a stand for $10 at the Goodwill. She only needed a wee bit of TLC to be humming along.

The veneer on top needs a little more "help", but other that that, best $10 I ever spent!

Treadle base for Singer
The manual that came with the 15-88 shows it installed in treadle base that the 127/128? (not sure which it is) sits in. I wonder if that's actually the style of base that the 127 was supposed to be in. I kind of like the simpler style of it compared to the more ornate black bases...

That is just the newer style treadle base - so it could have any full size belt machine in it from that time frame. I have one that a 15-88 came in also. The machine in it is a 127 - the 128 is the 3/4 version of the 127.
