    If you want something new, Janome sells a non electric machine. I have heard they carry it bacause of Amish. I have seen it on the Janome USA site.

    That's interesting. I wonder if there are other sewing machines manufactured for third world countries that do not have reliable electricity?

    Singer also makes a reproduction treadle. (The Janome isn't repro, it's just a new treadle) Neither of them are very good from what I've heard/read about them.

    Theres nothing like my Grannys 1909 singer treadle, love it, I do have a redeye treadle also.
