In need of bobbins for Davis Vertical Feed 1911 (Part No. VF 32 1/2).
Preliminary research shows Singer sewing parts are available in abundance. Having difficulty finding a chart or list that shows which Singer parts are compatible with other machines. Ones that I do find, don't list my machine. I hope that doesn't mean that their parts are not compatible with my machine.
Can someone point me to a list of which Singer parts are compatible with my machine (or visa versa), please, or would let me know where I can get bobbins for my machine? Thanks.

Can't think of anything that's compatible--needles, shuttle, bobbin are all different. Singer long bobbins will work in your Davis but must be wound on a Singer. This thread might be of help:

Your Davis is a "Vertical Feed" and the Davis Unique is an Underfeed but they share the same needle, bobbin, and shuttle.
If you joint the Davis VF Yahoo group they have an owners manual in "Files" for your Davis

Jon, my Davis VF is new enough to take Singer size needles, but it says that right on the front slide (picture of exact size of needle to use).

I have a newer UF that takes the Singer needle, but the two older Davis machines I have take the longer ones.

Hi Cathy,
Around 1910, Davis started with the common 15x1 on some of their machines. The New Minnesota A started with the Davis Long and switched over around this time. Whether Sears was responsible for this switch or it was a matter of using a more common needle or both is open to speculation. Eventually all Davis machines except the leaf tension on top of arm models (M & N) went with the 15x1. The NVF or "New Vertical Feed" was first made around 1912 and always used the 15x1 or "Davis Short" throughout it's production.

Thanks for the help. I have the original manual (and official sales certificate with serial number too). Originally purchased August 1911. I saw the thread about the Union but didn't know if it applied to me. I will keep checking on Ebay or maybe try and figure out a way to make them.
