Welcome Joanna! I have a few old machines too. It all started innocently enough with a Singer featherweight.

KalamaQuilts,
I don't buy any machine that won't use a modern 15x1 needle. I don't have room for a machine that I cannot use, live in a 1100 sq.ft. house.

Linda, I would venture your machines were in better condition than mine! They are both complete but totally filthy. The 301a smells like mildew and I think the 99 lived in a garage. Not rusted though and they aren't frozen!! Last night I tore down a good amount of the 301. Left the bobbin hook assembly. I need to work up some courage there!

Not to be an enabler...*ahem* BUT I thought for sure I would buy my featherweight and it would collect dust. Turns out it has become my primary machine. It's quiet, stores and sets up quickly and sews a pretty stitch. I really have loved it. Oh, and it's just so cute!

I've been bitten pretty well now, too. My DH just bought me a 301A today for our 35th anniversary. It is pretty complete with case.

I already have a 221, a 222, and a 99k.

Welcome Joanna.
Caspharm You almost have the grand slam of singers. (although I don't know what that would really be 221 222 and 301 in three colors?)

Oops, are we supposed to justify getting more machines?lol I just get them and then figure "it" out later, nothing like having a few sewing machines laying around.

Yep, a 201 and she would be set. Not being a Singer gal myself(I keep telling myself that) I have only a 222 to still find to complete my grand slam. Oh, and I thought I just "had to have" a FW because don't all good quilters have one? I find I rarely use it. While it is so cute and sews a great seam it's just too small for me to take it seriously. I use my 301s and 201-2 the most out of my Singers.
