Default Lap quilt and table runner.

I completed my 6th. project since January. It's a 45" x 90" lap quilt and was made from scraps, leftover and donated pieces. I shot from the hip on these. No plan other than grab some material and sew. The table runner was inspired by a LQS class on the "French Bread" pattern that was handed out at the class. They are quick to make and great for gifting. You can use up a lot of scraps on these. The table runner has a little FMQ done(my first attempt)and both projects have hand binding. Hand binding, to me, is like watching paint dry, but does produce a nice bound edge. I used my vintage Riccar and UltraStitch 12 to complete the projects. Hope you enjoy.

Very pretty. I especially like your floral border fabric on your table runner.

That floral fabric came from Hobby Lobby in Wenatchee, Wa. I picked it up in June. Janice and I did a 6000 mi. round trip to visit aging relatives and pick up an 1895 Standard treadle w/ coffin top. When we returned home, I made 2 placemats with that fabric, had their initials monogramed on them and sent them to Wenatchee as a thank you gift. They are both 90 and my aunt wanted me to have her machine for my collection. A picture of the machine is my avitar. The condition of the machine is near mint.

Sometimes the best plan is no plan at all.
FMQ is fun isn't it? What machine did you use for it?
Very nice work!

I used the Ultrastitch 12 covering the dogs. I did not have a longshank hoppity-hop for the Riccar. FMQ is fun and Leah Day(? spelling)makes it look easy.
