vmaniqui,

I don't have either of those, but just to satiate my curiosity, which machines do they work on?

The plate with the rounded lip fits the 66/99 The other fits any of the side clamp machines, though it came standard with the 101. Though the plate that fits the 101 is slightly different.

Singer quickly went to a longer darner foot - and if you ever use this one, it's pretty evident why. It replaces the needle clamp, and you can tell that the needle goes quite a way into the fabric before the foot even touches it. It's better than nothing - which is what singer recomended for darning before they came out with this foot.

BTW - these are not cheaper, common parts. If you get the plate for under $10 you are doing good, and the foot can go for more. Best way to get them is watch for misc lots that have them in, and hope no one else notices.

The listing this picture came from is at a good price - I'd suggest trying to buy it if it does not go much higher if you really want this set.

Also - the listing is a bit misleading, while the foot fits all listed, the plate will not fit anything but the 66/99 machines.

It's easy to end up with "extras" of the eight basic feet (available from about 1910 on) - this is the Ruffler, binder, narrow hemmer, adjustable hemmer. Early sets also included the Tucker and Seam guide w screw. Later sets included the first four plus the Edge Stitcher and Gather foot. The also came with a large and small screwdrivers, and the bias cutting guide. Over the years there were variations to most of the attachments, if you care to be year specific to your machine.

The others had to be purchased separately, and the vast majority of Singer owners never did, so there are a lot less of them.

Then there are the truly rare - the single and double thread embroidery attachments, and the penguin foot. The full set fagoter is also up there. Most of the specialty attachments run in the $10 - $75 range. The FW crowd helps keep the Singer attachment prices up there, if it fits a FW it often sells for more.

It took me two days to find the plate I have. It won't fit the 66 / 99 machines and the # on it is: 66628.

It will fit something that's for sure.

It is slightly larger than the one for the 66/99 and it won't fit on them. Along with the 101, it does fit the 201, 15 - if you wanted to use it instead of dropping the feed dogs.

It will also fit the 115, and after looking at mine, it does not look like the feet drop on that one.

Well, that is good to know. I have a 201, a 15 and several clones. I'll make an ID slip and put it with the plate in a zippie lock bag for safe keeping.
