Whew. That one would take an awful lot of work. I would try to free up the bobbin area first. Then free up the other mechanical areas after that. Finish is the least of your worries.

I hope you are not in a hurry. This is pretty bad. You will be able to get it sewing again but it will never be a pretty looking one. First you need to spray all the mechanical parts with Blast Buster, the bobbin area and the underneath parts and even inside the arm. I do this outside because the Blast Buster stinks. Let it rest for a day or two and do it again and again and again. The face plate and the hand wheel and all the shinny bits can be soaked in evaporust before polish. You may have to soak the bobbin winder in evaporust too. Evaporust will turn the metal black but will polish off. After a few days see if anything is moving if not continue to blast buster the thing. If you get the bobbin case out it will need all the pitting removed and smoothed or will catch thread. Maybe just a new one from ebay. Keep us posted. I am on VSS most of the time with Miriam. Good luck with this one.

Glenn, that is a much more thorough answer. I've seen how some of your stuff comes out. I went looking for a couple pics of rust bucket machines I got running then got distracted.
