This is further evidence why I love this place! Thinking of engraving my name on my Kenmore...ok, maybe not, but wishing the ladies (or men) who owned my machines before me had done this. Charlee, you rock!

OK Joe, now that the last name has been decided, just how old is your louise? I'm thinking that it would be interesting to see just how old the original Louise was when she signed her machine. I also wish I knew the owner's names of my vintage machines. I just know the first name of my 1945 FW. Just got to love these old gals. I'm glad that you were able to fix her up and give her a life again.

Ah..my implication was that I don't think Louise was too old when she got the machine.
From what I can find on Ancestry, which isn't much, it doesn't look like Louise ever married...and if I'm looking at the right one, died in 2004.

Isn't it strange how mechanical things outlive us humans that made and originally bought and used them by many many years?
RIP Louise, I'll take care of your machine.
Joe
