Default Machine ID verification

My wife saw this machine on Face Book and has been corresponding with the poster:

As best we can tell by the pic and serial #; 10,952,099, it's a 27 with the painted roses decals made in 1892. We haven't ID'd the cabinet yet.
It also looks to be missing the top tension assembly.

Are we close or did we miss it by a city block?

The poster of the machine wants to sell it but I suspect she'll be asking waaayyyy too much.

Joe, the cabinet looks like a typical Singer 3-drawer drop-leaf cabinet. They didn’t put the Singer name across the center support in the beginning. My 1901 Singer 5-drawer does have the Singer name across the support. Looking closely at the left end of the cabinet in the photo, you can see that it has the Singer Logo on the ends.

Hope you get it.

The table looks like a Singer to me too. One of the drawer pulls appears to be missing unless it's in the drawer. If you get it, I may have one around here somewhere.

Good luck!

I’m stuck on the other items in the photo. You reckon that guy is good enough with a golf club that he chips the charcoal briquettes into his grill one-by-one just for entertainment?

It also looks like the bobbin plate is missing. There seems to be scrollwork on the end of the top. I'll bet it is pretty.

Maybe you can get the price down because of the missing parts and the rust. Elaborate on how much work you will have to put into her to get her back in shape....
Good luck, she looks like a keeper.

We are not actively trying to get it. More like we're trying to help the gal ID it. It's also nearly a 100 miles away from us, so for us to go for it she'd have to be willing to sell it REAL reasonable like .

She probably wants too much. After all it's in a place of honor next to the garage door and BBQ briquets.
Looks like it'll clean up nicely. I hope you can get it. My guess is you're right on the date.

thats sound like the right year. singer change the center brace in (guessing) 1898 + - , That brace should have a pat date on the back..

I was checking on over last friday. The lady ID it as a mid 1880's same cabinet but a 4 drawer with the silver pull's Aaaaa the machine is a 27 and has the sphinx design. I don't know when the sphinx came out.
