Mine Too! (Motor problem)

Mine Too! (Motor problem)
I didn't want to hijack someone else's thread, so I started another one. My Necchi's motor is sluggish like what Smokeythecat has. I have to lightly move the handwheel to get it moving. It runs fine until I stop, then I have to nudge the handwheel again when I start.
It also makes a high-pitched noise when it is running, even if I take the belt off so it has no stress from running the machine. It is quiet if it is on but idle. I'm not using it with the motor until I can find out why this is.
I know exactly -0- about electric motor cleaning and repair. I watched a video on the Tube, but it looked really complicated. And I admit I'm a little afraid to try with the Necchi because of the 2 speeds.

Here's the tutorial that taught me how to service a motor. It's not hard.

Also, if you bring the take up lever to the top or just over the top of its travel when you finish a seam, it will be easier to pull the thread and remove the fabric, AND it should start the next seam without balking. The take up lever right at that point is finished with the stitch and going to begin the next.
