Minnesota Model A Manual
My son and I have been working on this Minnesota Model A for my cousin. I purchased a Manual through Relics, and in looking at the diagram of the machine shown in the manual and the machine we're working on, there are some distinct differences. The presser foot is a bottom clamp style, where the one in the manual is a side clamp. The needle bar is a side clamp! I've been looking for a manual which actually depicts this machine, is this a lost cause?
I'm happy to say that the presser bar and needle clamp are no longer frozen, and the stitch length selector is also loose, so we are definitely making progress!

Jeanette,
Sounds like the wrong Minnesota A manual as it was badged under 3 or 4 makers. Here's one for the "B" or "Burdick" which is the closest free manual available. Some of the pics are of the "A" (bottom oiling chart) and I've never seen a Davis bobbin winder without a thread guide as pictured in one diagram but it should work.

Jon,
Thank you so very much! I can't believe I was so stupid, but you don't get to look at the manual until you buy it! LOL The machine depicted is exactly like the one shown in the manual you sent, but it has Minnesota A on it! Go figure!
Again, thank you so much!
