I have a serious problem. I am never happy with what I have, so I am constantly looking for sad machines on the internet that could use help. Today I took an hour trip to pick up this little dude:

I can't figure out how to post a picture from my phone right now, but I managed to get a link to work. I found an ad posted online for this machine as well as a Husqvarna Viking 6010. I have wiped the Roceteer a bit, oiled and cleaned it. The bobbin tire needed to be changed, thankfully I had a spare. It didn't come with any accessories, but it has a presser foot, a bobbin, and 1 stitch cam. I managed to get some stitched out of it within a few hours of getting it home.

i love the look of this machine. This is the first one I have ever seen in person.

She's beautiful. AND they are very reliable. The 600 series and under are some of the best darn machines. They are like workhorses. I don't have a 300 or 500 series, but I sure wouldn't pass one up.

It's my understanding that this came from someone that was a seamstress for a living, so it's a testament to it's robustness. It was pretty dirty and the plastic has some melty spots on it, but is still in great condition. I have some learning to do because I don't know much about dialing in the stitches, so I will be watching some youtube to figure it all out.

I will have more time later today to take some better pictures. I should have taken a before pic, but I was to excited to clean it off

I have one also, a really neat machine. I quilted with it without a walking foot and it did great. In the ditch only to test it out.

I have a Rocketeer that I bought just because I liked the way it looked Now I just finished piecing and king sized quilt on it. What a nice machine! My husband bought it for me and paid way too much, I'm sure but it does have all the cams and a whole bunch of spare feet which is really nice because the feet exchange with my 301.

I have a 500A as well. Have not yet done more than admire it. Lol! She is a beauty. I have some of the extras but not even sure if they all fit as they are in a box that says model 640 but as we all know that is not necessarily relevant. My friend and I found these at a thrift shop in Pennsylvania when we were there and it followed me home

I had intentions of putting time into the machine, and of course I got side tracked with so many other things. I have some fashion discs that I think are suitable for this machine, I just have to dig them up. One thing I noticed with this machine in the short time I was working on it is the needle bar seems to have a slip to it. Like gravity is influencing it way too much. Is this normal for this machine, or is there something severely wrong with it?

I have a 500A as well. I got it to back up my 2010, which has about 2 million miles on it since I got it in 1983. LOVE the slant needles!
