Default My New Vintage Singer 185-J

Brought my new little treasure home Wednesday afternoon. It was posted on Craigslist and I was the first to respond to the ad. It belonged to the sister of the lady I bought it from. It was made in 1954. She said her sister hardly ever used it and you could tell by its pristine condition. Heavy machine weighing 25 pounds. My husband took the front cover off and cleaned and oiled the inside as well as underneath the machine. She sews like a dream with the most beautiful stitches. I plan on taking her to bee. I will definitely be using my machine trolly for transporting.

She came with a collapsible table which is perfect for sewing. Best of all it got her and the table for $50.00!

Your machine looks really nice. My husband got one like that in payment of fixing up a 1908 Singer 99. His was in a cabinet so does not have the base cover like yours.

Great find Cathy. Usually the plastic bases for these are cracked, so it is rare to find one in such pristine condition. I also have never seen a box of attachments so clean! Enjoy.
