My newest machines: Riccar Treadle, Singer Fashionmate, Domestic (mystery)
Hello everyone,
I've been busy. LOL Let me introduce the newest of my collection.
This Riccar Treadle is my grandmothers. She didn't use it as much as her other machine a Pink Atlas (i suspect a 15 clone) Mom told me she wore that one out and this is the replacement. I rescued it from my cousin's place where it had suffered some water damage to the treadle cabinet.

The Singer Fashion mate was a pawn shop purchase, only $20 for the stylish yet weak machine. LOL It's ok. *wink*

This Domestic mystery appeared the other day on the side of a road. She looked like she needed a ride and a home so i took her in. *see other thread*

*wink* The Riccar is a tank! LOL It survived my relatives. Right now i have a bright pink parachute cord on the treadle part so i could work with it. Little bro loves that machine, he keeps taking over and playing with it. I suspect a budding interest in machine repair/sewing. I need to do some sanding and refinishing on the drawers and table top. But for now it's running and the cat loves to wrap herself around it.
Before i forget, this is the other thread i mentioned above :

Great machines! I hadn't heard of Riccar machines..today at quilt group one of the ladies was talking about her mom's machines..back in "the day" her mom had a Riccar that her dad had sold and used the money toward a new machine for her mom..all without consulting mom..needless to say it didn't go over like dad thought it would. She said her mom went to the sewing machine shop to get her Riccar back..owner said he had sold it within hours of buying it from her husband..we gals couldn't help but gasp and also laugh about him thinking he was doing such a great thing..and then ending up in the "doghouse" over it! Someone suggested maybe her mom should've went in dad's workshop and "upgraded" something for him, too..
