I personally don't know, as I haven't figured out how to thread it, and even if I did, I don't have a needle.

Except for the awkwardness of sewing on that raised platform, it likely sews just like any of the other old Singers, except instead of a lock stitch, it sews a chain stitch. It is also really little, so that might make a difference to some.
