    Linda,

    Welcome to the QB.

You are so very right about the T&S machines. I've got one, but had completely forgotten about it. I'll see what I can find in the Singer site.

email on the way. DH has a parts list for the 500 series machines - it does have an expanded diagram of the tension.

    it's for the 518, 538, 514, 534, 513, 533 - so though it's for the 500 Series, it's NOT for the 500A

    Cathy,
The top tension exploded view in page 4 is for the 513 type, not the 534. I've got that exact parts book in hard copy.

That is what Joe already has - but if you look down at the parts list, the 533 and 534 are listed for almost all the same ones, though the 533 has a "tension release spring" and maybe one other part that isn't listed as used for the 534.

Well, here we go again. This stupid computer is refusing to open .pdf files. Gonna do a shut down restart in a minute and try again.

Cathy, the diagram for the 513 is similar as most tensions are similar. But the one mounted on the top cover has additional parts so I wanted an exact exploded drawing for that. I found one in a parts manual for my Singer T&S 778. So I'm good for the exploded drawing part.

What I need now is adjustment specs, if there ever was any. But I think I can fake it after I get the disks cleaned and reassembled.

Also, I have the link to Singers parent page for the industrial sewing machine service manuals. Does anyone have the link to the parent page for the Domestic machine service manuals? I used to have it but lost it in a hard drive failure.
And for the life of me I cannot dig my way through that Singer site enough to find it again.
