Default An old chainstitch sewing machine

I've been for a few days to Berlin and at our hotel I saw this old sewing machine standing there for decoration!!

A little sign on it says: "Rossmann Dresden", it's an old German manufacturer! I found out that this machine is a "chainstitch machine" and made perhaps in 1905....

I never saw such a sewing machine before and so I thought I must share it!!!

I just LOVE the look of vintage machines! I thought I was going to get my great-grandmother's treadle machine, but one of my aunts claimed it first. She wanted it because it's an antique, I wanted that particular one because of sentimental value -- my GGM made all of my little clothes on that treadle when I was younger, and to me, it's a connection to her.

Too bad it wasn't for sale! I have seen this machine before and they are so darn cute. Thanks for posting.
