I believe that I am going to have it serviced and I will give it to my granddaughters to sew with. They are 14 and 11 and I have teaching them how to sew. I am sure they would have a great time using it!

This morning I stopped in a Goodwill store to browse but didn't find anything exciting. As I was pulling out of the parking lot, I saw a TV and sewing machine case sitting on the ground outside next to a dumpster. I went back inside to inquire about why it was there, and if it were being thrown away. They said yes, and it was free for the taking if I wanted it. I had no idea what kind it was or what kind of shape it was in, but I figured that the price was surely right! I put it in the car and was out of there!
When I got home and opened it up I found the prettiest turquoise blue sewing machine. It is a Revere Deluxe Precision Sewing Machine, Model CB.
Does anyone have one like it? How do you like it? Any idea where I can find a manual? Do you have any hints about using it?
The cords look to be in good shape, and the wheel turns. I haven't plugged it in yet.

It was not sold on www.shopgoodwill.com. I had been watching it to see what happened. Glad it found a good home after all. Sometimes they are relisted, sometimes not.

FINALLY I get to reply to this LOL! I was SO tickled to find this as the same has happened to me! I was leaving my local thrift store (supporting Hospice) and there sat a very heavy, boxed in sewing machine on the sidewalk. It had JUST been left off, it wasn't there when I'd walked in. They were closing, and bringing the carts in for the night. I wasn't going to bother asking the price, their policy is no selling unless they've processed it first. But I wasn't sure if it'd just been left or was set out for sale... I asked the lady bringing the carts in and she said it'd just been left. As I turned to leave she asked if I was interested, I had looked inside the box and got a very brief view of the very sexy design of the machine and just knew that what I had left after already shopping wouldn't be enough, so I said Yes, but all I have left is $4.50. She said Give me $3 and you can have it.
I nearly did a jig as I danced (lopsided as this thing was nearly 60 lbs within the wooden box!) to the car with it
I'm tickled to know that the ONLY thing wrong with this gorgeous, shiny machine is there's a thumb screw missing on the dial. EVERYTHING else is there, including the hardware, accessories, accessories MANUAL, the machine MANUAL lol even the lifetime guarantee paper!!
I share your excitement! I'd love to know from you all however, where could I find (or at least what keyword could I use to find) the appropriate attachment to do free motion quilting? The feed dogs (right?) don't drop on these older girls as far as I can tell. So I do believe I need a plate. My grandma was a quilter/sewer/creator-of-awesome-stuff and I have learned some in my years, but have never had the nerve to really make the attempt in a serious way. Then again I didn't have the SLEW of info there is available today lol or support from great people like you guys!
Just for fun, I have to say, the reason I was there that day at the thrift store was to buy a bunch of sticks that were bundled together and labeled as a quilting frame (said new lol) Turns out it wasn't exactly new, it just hadn't been used much. It was a vintage (sears later, but first was a LeeWards) all purpose quilting frame. Nothing fancy, but sturdy and great for a beginner like me. $5 in the store and $3 for missing bolts, now I have my frame too ^_^

Look for a low shank darning foot - sew-classic and other on line companies sell them.
The feed dogs drop on that machine - there is a little knob on the lower right that turns and the feet raise and lower - it may or may not be stuck up with dried up oil.

If you haven't replaced it already, I believe a presser foot thumb screw will work on the stitch length lock dial. They normally have a tiny metal and fiber washer under them as well. I've seen them somewhere, if I run across them I'll post the location. You might try Jenny at Sew-Classic, if she doesn't have the screw and washers she might could get them. Also try your local sewing machine shop.

I just read this thread from the beginning.
I'm glad the OP rescued that gorgeous blue clone from the dumpster. Some people just have no sense of value.
Anyway I checked the local GW store and they do not have a dumpster. They have a huge compactor as big as a tractor trailer the put everything into. No chance to rescue anything once they've tossed it in the compactor.
